Start Date: 1st September 2025

Contract: 33 hours per week, Term Time only plus 5 days.

This is a temporary TA post subject to funding for an identified child with additional needs.

The Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle has a growth plan for Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust to serve South Tyneside, Sunderland and East Durham.

Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust was established in February 2016, currently there are thirty schools within the Trust, five secondary schools with sixth forms and 25 primary schools. St Leonard’s Catholic Primary School is looking to appoint Teaching Assistants from September 2025 to:

  • Support and assist teaching and learning as part of a professional team
  • Contribute to raising standards of pupils’ achievement
  • Undertake a range of activities under the professional direction and supervision of qualified teachers and/or senior colleagues, in line with the school’s policies and procedures

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, positive, hard-working, flexible and conscientious person to join our school team as a Teaching Assistant.
