Cuteness overload with special Easter visitor for Durham Primary

Apr 4, 2023

Children at a County Durham primary school were overjoyed to meet – and feed – a lamb in school.

St Godric’s Catholic Primary School, which is part of Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust, hosted the special visitor brought in by Robert Norris, who is in reception.

Julie Hill, executive headteacher at the school in Wheatley Hill, said: “At St Godric’s Catholic Primary School in Thornley, children have been learning about signs of Spring and new life, and they have had a very special visitor in school.

“Staff at St Godric’s always look for opportunities to excite and engage our pupils through real-life experiences. How lucky the children were when Robert offered to bring his lamb to school.”

The lamb was a hit with all the children who were very excited to have a go at bottle-feeding.

Mason Coxon, a Year 2 pupil, said: “The lamb was very cute and it made me feel very calm.”

Elena Cubillas-Espino, also in Year 2, said: “It was adorable and it made me feel very happy.”
