Gaudete
Over the past few years, we have been on a fantastic journey working with our schools and local communities to create our own Mass Setting. Inspired by our communities, Gaudete was created to be used by both our schools and our parishes.
We wanted to create a Mass Setting that our pupils and communities had the opportunity to contribute to, ensuring that it was both inclusive and familiar and helping everyone to join together and feel at home during the celebration of Mass.
We worked with acclaimed composer Will Todd and the National Liturgy Office, and we were delighted when our new Mass Setting was approved by the National Liturgy Office.
This spirit of joy, celebration and coming together is reflected throughout our Mass Setting.
Pupils, schools and local communities were given the opportunity to contribute to the creation of the Mass Setting.
An exclusive preview of Gaudete was shared with key stakeholders ahead of its official launch.
Gaudete was launched at the Catholic Leaders and Clergy Conference at Newcastle Cathedral.

All our schools and parishes have free access to the finished musical score and can use the versions or individual parts of Gaudete that best support their celebration of Mass.
