Laptops for Kids

Published: 7th January 2021

Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust is proud to support the Laptops for Kids campaign launched today by The Chronicle newspaper in conjunction with partners.

Whilst schools are closed to the majority of pupils, children are reliant on remote learning, however The Northern Powerhouse Partnership, based on data from Ofcom and ONS, have found that there are thousands of children without access to digital devices.

We are supporting this campaign which will make a huge difference to students, ensuring they get a high quality resource that enables them to get good connectivity back to schools. We can then engage them fully in their learning and mitigate against that gap between vulnerable students and their less disadvantaged peers.

Anyone wanting to support the campaign should visit where businesses can pledge to donate suitable technology, individuals can express interest in donating items and headteachers can request assistance.
