A Level and BTEC Results

Published: 10th August 2021

Today students in our five secondary schools received their A Level and BTEC results.

We are absolutely delighted for our students in doing so well across our secondary schools. It has been one of the most challenging years for our young people, adapting to change, isolation and online learning alongside personal challenges they may have faced during the past 18 months.

It is tribute to the resilience and dedication of our students and the support from their families, that their ongoing hard-work across the academic terms has resulted in them being able to achieve such good A-level results. The government’s decision to use Teacher Assessed Grades (TAGs) has meant that all students have had to complete a substantial series of rigorous in-school assessments in order to demonstrate their ability and secure their final grades. The TAGs have been subject to a robust and rigorous standardisation process and provide a fair reflection of the ability of the students. These grades will allow our students to make the next big choice in their lives, of further study at university or of taking a more vocational route into work.

These positive results are also a tribute to the supportive community ethos we engender across all our schools. Our staff have risen to the challenge during this difficult period, guiding the students through the very challenging TAG process and will continue to support students in the coming weeks by assisting them through the appeals process.
